Composer, musician, author, satirist - Peter Schickele is internationally recognized as one of the most versatile artists in the field of music. "March Of The Cute Little Wood Sprites" is just one of his many arrangements, and it will be an enjoyable experience for the performers and the audience.
Technical Notes: This band set includes both a condensed score and a full score. The 1st percussion part is for glockenspiel and xylophone. The 2nd percussion part is for small triangle and chimes. Tubular bells are another option. The 3rd percussion part is for large triangle and snare drum. The 4th percussion part is for bell tree and tom tom. The 5th percussion part is for bass drum and ratchet.
To the conductor: In the sections that are sung, all vocal lines appear at concert pitch and have been printed in each appropriate instrumental part. Which players sing which line should be determined by the conductor on the basis of vocal range and balance. In the case of an all-male band, the "women only" sections should be performed by singing in falsetto at the pitch indicated, or, if necessary, by singing an octave lower.
