Larry Clark has been composing works for young ensembles for many years. In this work he uses only the first six notes students learn on their instruments. He creates darkness by writing this work in a minor key. The work opens with a fanfare section and from there the main theme is heard, followed by a "B" theme and into the coda for the ending. The harmonies and development of the work are brilliant. Your students will enjoy performing this work!
Technical Notes: The percussion 1 part if for snare drum and bass drum. The percussion 2 part is for crash cymbal and triangle. The mallet percussion part is for chimes and bells.
