This is a bold and powerful work for young bands! The aggressive theme sets the stage for this forceful original piece. "Titan, Moon Of Saturn" celebrates the multi-national spacecraft that landed on Saturn's moon Titan, on January 14, 2005. In addition to being a great piece for your own band to perform, it is the perfect expression for a massed band performance. This is also a wonderful opportunity for some cross curricular work with the science department.
Technical Notes: There is an additional unlisted optional part labelled "Flexible Bass Line" that can be used by electric bass, keyboard or any other bass clef instrument to help supplement the low end of the music. The mallet percussion part calls for xylophone and bells, the percussion 1 part calls for snare drum and bass drum, and the percussion 2 part calls for cabasa, woodblock, crash cymbal, suspended cymbal and gong.
