Imagine Tchaikovsky on a vacation trip that was arranged by a really, really bad travel agent. That, in a nutshell, describes "The Nutty Nutcracker". This humorous parody of what may arguably be some of the best-known melodies on the planet, is a certain crowd pleaser. Everybody knows the tunes, but not like THIS! "The Arabian Tango", "The Chinese Hoedown", "The Waltz of the Mariachi Flowers", "The Dance of the Klezmer Clarinets" and MORE. You get the idea! This Mike Hannickel arrangement of Tchaikovsky's famous ballet, "The Nutcracker", will be great fun for everyone. You'll want to use "A Nutty Nutcracker" again and again. A CD, previewing this and several other Curnow choices, is included.

Technical Notes: The mallet percussion part calls for samba whistle (can substitute agogo bells), xylophone, bells and marimba, the timpani part calls for congas and tambourine, the percussion 1 part calls for cowbell, timbales, tom toms, snare drum and bass drum, and the percussion 2 part calls for tambourine, claves, gong, temple blocks, cowbell, finger cymbals, suspended cymbal and crash cymbals.
