"The Polar Express" was a fascinating movie featuring wonderful music. Many young band members fell in love with the music from the movie, but they do not realize how difficult the movie music is. Our arrangement of this popular melody has been created with your beginning ensemble in mind. Johnnie Vinson has placed this work in a comfortable key and range for your young players. Also if you do not have a large ensemble, the piece can still be performed because many of the bass parts are doubled and you will only need a few players on the low parts to provide an adequate sound. Technical Notes: The oboe, French horn, and bells parts are optional. The percussion 1 part is for snare drum and bass drum. The percussion 2 part is for hi-hat and sleigh bells. The piece has been scored so that any one or more of the bass clarinet, baritone saxophone, baritone TC or trombone/baritone BC/bassoon parts will provide enough bass support.
