Technical Notes: This composition was written to be played by a variety of bands, was to be not too difficult, fun to play and nice to listen to. It can be divided into three contrasting movements that follow each other without interruption. After a jubilant introduction, a more flowing melody is exposed, accompanied by a simple rhythmic harmonization. A sudden modulation transforms this melody from a romantic theme into a theme of gratitude. In the third movement, two contrasting themes are heard. The first theme is in 6/8 time and has a lively character; the second theme in 2/2 time has a martial and solemn character. The themes alternate, followed by a majestic conclusion with parts of the beginning themes.
The bass part is labeled "Bass/Double Bass". The keyboard percussion part is labeled "Mallet Percussion".
