"Edgemont Festival Overture" is an energetic concert or festival opener that is sure to make your band sparkle! A majestic fanfare featuring powerful chords voiced in a Copland style leads into a jaunty 6/8 main theme featuring your horn section. The soaring horn soli can be played using either two or four horns that are also cued in the alto saxophone and baritone parts. Another effective contest/concert work from Carl Strommen!
Technical Notes: The keyboard percussion part is labeled "Mallets (Bells and Chimes)". The percussion part is labeled "Percussion (Snare Drum, Bass Drum, Crash Cymbals, Suspended Cymbal, Triangle)".
To the director: This piece may be played using only two French horn parts. In that situation, use parts 1 and 3 only.
