Item number 1060109JE, 47 pages, $14.95 This exciting book features 15 classic Cole Porter compositions. A compact disc is included with each book. What's neat about this book is its focus on jazz improvisation. Each of the 15 songs starts with the melody (written out for you to play). The middle section of each piece is where you get to "improve" on Cole Porter's work. The chord changes and measures are shown for the middle sections of the songs, and the performer gets to improvise while playing with the backup band (on the CD). It's a neat concept - practicing (and learning) improvisational skills without wasting the time of a backup band. This is a neat book that you'll surely enjoy!
