Shane Porter's wonderfully arranged piece would be a great choice for this fall. "Great Balls Of Fire" will have everyone dancing in the stands. Goodness Gracious!
Technical Notes: The electric bass/optional baritione B.C. part doubles the tuba. The bells/xylophone part is labeled "mallet percussion" on the score. The multiple bass drum is for 4 pitches. The auxiliary percussion is marked for tambourine and cowbell.
"Warner Bros. Marching Band Series" has a unique feature that allows the band director to customize the arrangement to fit his or her band in the lower voices. Each arrangement is published with two lower brass and woodwind parts, #1 and #2, printed in both bass and treble clefs. Also, an optional E Flat alto saxophone part is included, which doubles the low brass and woodwind part #1. This allows the band director to assign trombones, baritones, tenor saxes, and even some alto saxes (if necessary) to balance the lower brass and woodwind sound.
