Rock out in the stands this year or feature your percussion on one of the most famous party tunes of all time. The signature drum lick can be found, but with a few twists. Arranger Bill Calhoun has used his skill as a percussionist to design a great new version of this classic tune. Hang Ten, Dude!!
Technical Notes: An optional baritone B.C. part can be played in place of the electric bass. This part and the baritone saxophone part double the tuba part. The optional E Flat alto saxophone doubles the low brass and woodwind #1 part. The bells/xylophone part is labeled "mallet percussion" on the score.
The "Pops For Marching Band Series" has a unique feature which allows the band director to customize the arrangement to fit their band in the lower voices. Each arrangement is published with two lower brass and woodwind parts, #1 and #2, printed in both bass and treble clefs. Also, an optional wind part #1. This will allow the band diretor to assign trombones, baritones, tenor saxes, and even some alto saxes (if necessary) to balance the lower brass and woodwind sound. The remainder of the instrumentation is traditional.
