"A Festive Celebration" was written for the Shawnee Heights Middle School Eighth Grade Concert Band, Tecumseh, Kansas. It was commissioned by Lyle Reynoso, the ensemble's director of concert and festival performances. This piece, with its majestic fanfares, driving rhythmic figures, multiple meter changes and lyrical melodic lines, is meant to musically represent "a festive celebration" of life and the many wonderful things that may sometimes be taken for granted.
