Richard Strauss has composed many great works, and his horn concertos are among the greatest works for horn in the world. Concerto No. 2 is presented here in the Music Minus One format, which allows you to play this solo with the orchestra. You do not have to hire one, it is on the enclosed CD. The work is on the CD in three versions. The first version is the complete version, so you can hear the horn part with the orchestra. The second version is your chance to be the solo artist, with the horn part removed. Finally, since this is a very tough work, the last version of this work is at a slower tempo, by about twenty percent. This will allow you to practice with the orchestra at a more comfortable speed. You just have to practice your part, the orchestra is warmed up and tuned. Good Luck!
