Tenor saxophonist and composer Benny Golson wrote one of the most distinctive jazz tunes ever, "Killer Joe". This Mike Story arrangement is a great way to introduce your group to classical jazz at its best.
Technical Notes: The baritone B.C. part is labeled "Baritone B.C. (Optional 2nd Trombone)". The electric bass part is labeled "Electric Bass/Optional Baritone B.C. (Tuba Double)". The optional baritone T.C. part is labeled "Optional Baritone T.C. (Tuba Double)". The multiple bass drums part is labeled "Optional Tonal Bass Drums (4 Pitch)".
This piece includes 12 B Flat clarinet parts as well as 12 optional B Flat clarinet parts. The B Flat clarinet parts are written in the upper octave and have passages that cross the break. The optional B Flat clarinet parts are written below the break. Both parts feature similar rhythms.
