Taylor may best be known to the public at large for his broadcasting activities, including a jazz series for National Educational Television and several series on National Public Radio. Billy Taylor has been involved in jazz education, and has been the recipient of awards for his teaching as well as performing. This is the first published book of transcriptions of Billy Taylor's recorded solos. The compositions have been transcribed from "Solo," his first CD of piano solos. In addition to the 9 piano solos in this book, you will find a biography of Billy Taylor and a selected discography.
