Item number 1701407JE, 32 pages, $5.95 Johann Friederich Burgmuller was born in Germany to a musical family in the year 1806. Trained by his father, a musician of great prominence, he later moved to Paris, France where his playing and compositional style took on the lighter approach to music of this area as compared to the music of his native Germany. While his compositions did receive widespread praise, he is more aptly known for his intricate piano studies. They were intended for students who were not only looking for studies with substance and technical theory, but could also be used as recital pieces. It is from these studies that this folio is compiled. Each study addresses a different technical aspect of piano playing, and all are still in use with piano instructors worldwide.
