This unique folio provides piano transcriptions and performance notes from two classic jazz compositions: “Waltz for Debby” and “Very Early.” Three versions of "Waltz For Debby", Evans' most famous tune, are included. The first one contains part of Evans' original piece as it appeared in the original edition of "Bill Evans Piano Solos", followed by a transcription as played by Marian McPartland on her NPR program, and finally as recorded by a quartet with Cannonball Adderley. "Very Early" is presented in two versions, the first is an arrangement for piano solo, and the second is a transcription written by Evans of a live performance by the Bill Evan's Trio. All piano students are sure to benefit by studying this mid-twentieth century pianist's work.
