Weiner was a contemporary to Bartok and Kodaly, but he refused to be influenced by them. Born in Budapest, Hungary, Weiner did not really get into formal music training until he attended the F. Liszt Academy of Music. Luckily, his maturity and thorough studies of music helped shape him into the composer who has influenced so many of todays composers and instrumentalists.
