Chausson's lovely "Poeme" is a lush late-nineteenth-century symphonic poem for violin and orchestra. Schubert's Rondo is another single concerted movement but from the first part of that century. Filled with luscious 19th-century themes but given the very different treatments typical of each composer and also of their very different musical eras. Both are marvelous concert-pieces.
This book/CD package consists of a printed music score and a compact disc which includes two versions of each song from the book. The first version is a complete version with soloist, that you can practice along with. The second version is a full stereo orchestral accompaniment, minus the soloist, that you will use for performances!
