This string quartet is one of a group of six written in 1797/98, Haydn's last period of composition. These pieces are quite expressive, with delightful touches. The G major "Erdody" quartet is a lovely piece and is highly recommended.
This book/CD package consists of a printed music score and a CD which includes two versions of each song from the book. The first version is a complete version by the Bedford String Quartet, for you to practice with. The second version is a full stereo accompaniment by the quartet, minus the first violinist, that you will use for performances!
