Item number 1460012AW, 23 pages, $10.95 Hailed as the "father of Romanian national music", Enesco was an accomplished violinist and remarkable composer. He studied in Vienna and at the Paris Conservatoire where he was a pupil of Marsick, and of Fauré and Massenet for composition. He contributed significantly to the development of music in his own country. His violin pupils include renowned violinists Grumiaux, Ferras, Gitlis and Menuhin. Although much that he wrote may be of greater musical significance, Enesco's most popular composition is the "Romanian Rhapsody No. 1". That aside, this piece is one of the works that demonstrates his enormous compositional skills. Written for solo viola with piano accompaniment, you're sure to enjoy this animated work.
